Cancer Truth Note: #111
Researchers NEED to construct studies that enable diverse populations accessible trial locations and meeting times that work with participants scheduling needs.
When patients are struggling to meet their basic needs, taking time off to travel for treatment may not be an option. If trials are not available in communities where people live and are not available at times when people are not at work, the participants will be limited to people with the ability to travel or take time off from work. Increased diversity requires increased patient education about possible trials and paths to facilitate access for all patients regardless of financial status or physical location.
