Cancer Truth Note: #117

by | Mar 29, 2023 | Cancer Truth Note

If you listen to your body when it whispers, you don’t have to hear it scream.

I say this to people a lot. This goes hand in hand with cancer truth note 3: You are the expert of your body. Listen to what it is telling you.

I see people in the studio with neck, shoulder, back pain, etc. They come in and say can you fix me in an hour. In order to answer that question, I need to know how long the pain has been coming on. A few days… maybe we can take care of it in an hour. Six months… I may need to see you six more times. The thing you ignored for six months is likely not going to be fixed in an hour. Same if you are avoiding checkups, screenings, or follow ups recommended from checkups or screenings.

If we listen to our body when it whispers AND get regular checkups and screenings hopefully we can head off too much screaming. Early detection and fast action can help reduce the interventions needed whether it is treating cancer or fixing that pain in your neck.

How has waiting when your body whispered impacted you? How did taking quick action serve you?
