Cancer Truth Note: #125

by | Apr 6, 2023 | Cancer Truth Note

Taking the time you need to heal is not selfishness or weakness. It is the embodiment of strength. Down time is a necessity.

As a recovering Type A personality, I struggle with my to do list languishing when down time is forced on me.

As a cancer survivor I realized early on that I need more down time than I used to. Without it I am more anxious.

I prioritize one day a week with no commitments. No work that needs to be done. No household chores that need my attention.

This is time that I can spend however I want to without guilt. If I want to binge something on TV and knit all day, I do. If I want to get some work done I can. The choice is mine.

Are you taking the time you need for you?
