Not answering the phone, not calling friends back, and not responding to text messages may be a need for space or a sign of depression. 

 In episode 76 of Unspoken Cancer Truths, Belinda Gill and I talked about this exact challenge. She noticed that she just stopped answering her phone, even when it was people she would otherwise be excited to talk to.

I noticed recently that over the past month I have resisted responding to people on social media. I thought of Belinda and wondered if it was a symptom of being depressed about my slow recovery.

So you may see me responding to older posts over the past few days and getting caught up on all the comments. It is actually something that I like to do and it raises my spirits. So I am being more intentional about where I am leaning away when leaning in will serve me better.
