Cancer Truth Note: #154

Saying your fears out loud can take away their power.

Yesterday I shared how our brain can try to protect us and unintentionally keep us stuck. When I was sitting on the side of that hospital bed unable to stand up it was a little scary. My brain was saying “Don’t do it”.  My husband was looking at me terrified. The tech who was there to help me was confused.

Then the pieces of why this was happening clunked into place.

I looked at my legs and out loud said “You work, stand up.” And I did. Then I told the tech the last time I felt like I felt in that moment my left leg wasn’t working and that seemed to keep me glued to the edge of the bed for a moment.

Our brain is powerful! It can also be changed and upgraded to better support us and keep us moving forward.

What fears can you say out loud to reclaim your power over them today?
