Every body experiences conditions and treatment differently!

Think about everyone you know who has experienced COVID-19. Several of my family members have had it. No one has had a cookie cutter experience. I have talked with a lot of cancer survivors, and this is one thing we can all agree on, everybody goes through cancer differently. Drop your different in the comments. Here is mine:

It was crazy to me that during treatment, I had pain med prescriptions and nausea medication at the ready with seemingly endless refills. I didn’t need either of them. While not common with my treatment, I got thrush EVERY SINGLE TIME. Yet every Monday following treatment I was back in the doctor’s office for a prescription. I asked why I could not get one that I could fill when I needed it. I was told it wasn’t common. They didn’t know why it was happening. Ummm …. What? Every three weeks I get chemo and targeted infusion treatments on Friday and the following Monday I am in her for this issue. I think the reason was clear. It took 10 months (in a yearlong treatment protocol) to get a prescription for the thing that was different. How about we just assume different is normal and go from there!
