Cancer Truth Note: #64

by | Feb 4, 2023 | Cancer Truth Note

Today is World Cancer Day. All humans deserve to have access to cancer screenings regardless of where they live in the world or their economic circumstances.

One thing we have done right in the US regarding healthcare is the required coverage for breast cancer, cervical cancer, and colon cancer screenings. These procedures are covered 100% by insurance. This is a benefit of the Affordable Care Act. Unfortunately there are still people that do not have access to these coverages.

Yet, sometimes looking at the right steps taken can lead us to the next right step. I agree the system is broken. Focusing on what worked can help us move the next step forward and continue building on the right choices and removing what is not working. Burning the whole thing down is not likely going to happen and trying to do too much at one time creates a situation where nothing happens.

So tell me, what do you think is one next right step that can be taken to improve access to screenings and to the well being services everyone deserves. Just one next right step can help move the needle.
