For some people a cancer diagnosis improves their relationships.

Relationships can be hard on our best days. When the chips are done, that is when you need your people to show up. In my case, my husband and I actually got married during my chemo. I have heard similar stories from others who were newly married when a cancer diagnosis happened. It made them stronger. It is possible for relationships to be strengthened by a cancer diagnosis. The outcomes are not always bad.
