Cancer Truth Note: #95

by | Mar 7, 2023 | Cancer Truth Note

We all make decisions differently. The medical community is working to meet patients where they are.

When it comes to the treatment decisions for cancer: Some people see one doctor and follow the recommendations to the letter, no question. Some people need all the data and all the recommendations, and some people need all the data and someone to review the pros and cons with. Not all patients think the same way and not all doctors are skilled at meeting a variety of needs. There are several research initiatives investigating how patients want to make decisions. Many are based on the types of cancer and related patient priorities. The more survivors share their perspectives the more we can help to support those who come after us. Keep sharing your stories.
